Job Description:

As the General Merchandise Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the general merchandise department in our stores. Your primary focus will be on maximizing sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction within this department. You will work closely with store managers and other team members to ensure that the general merchandise department meets and exceeds its sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategies to drive sales growth in the general merchandise department
• Manage inventory levels and ensure appropriate stock levels to meet customer demand
• Create attractive displays and merchandising solutions to enhance the customer shopping experience
• Train and develop team members to deliver excellent customer service and achieve sales goals
• Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
• Collaborate with other departments to cross-promote products and drive overall store sales
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to general merchandise

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in retail management, specifically in the general merchandise department
• Demonstrated ability to drive sales and meet/exceed sales targets
• Strong leadership and team-building skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
• Knowledge of retail merchandising principles and practices
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
