The Child Care Council of Greater Houston is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that every child in the greater Houston area has access to high-quality early childhood education and care. We provide resources, support, and advocacy for child care providers, as well as information and guidance for families seeking child care services.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families? Do you have a background in child care or social services? If so, we want you to join our team at the Child Care Council of Greater Houston. We are currently looking to fill the following positions:

Job Opportunities:

1. Child Care Resource and Referral Specialist

As a Child Care Resource and Referral Specialist, you will be responsible for connecting families with child care providers that meet their needs. This includes providing information on available child care options, conducting referrals, and offering support to families as they navigate the child care system.

Responsibilities:
– Conduct intake interviews with families to assess their child care needs
– Maintain a database of licensed child care providers in the Greater Houston area
– Provide guidance and support to families in selecting a child care provider
– Collaborate with community partners to ensure families have access to a variety of child care options
– Advocate for policies that promote high-quality child care for all children

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in social work, child development, or a related field
– Experience working in a child care setting or social service organization
– Strong communication and organizational skills
– Knowledge of early childhood education and care regulations
– Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

2. Early Childhood Education Specialist

As an Early Childhood Education Specialist, you will be responsible for providing training and support to child care providers in the Greater Houston area. This includes offering professional development opportunities, facilitating workshops, and conducting on-site visits to assess the quality of care being provided.

Responsibilities:
– Develop and deliver professional development workshops for child care providers
– Provide on-site technical assistance to child care programs to improve quality
– Conduct assessments of child care programs to ensure compliance with licensing standards
– Collaborate with local universities and training providers to offer educational opportunities for child care providers
– Stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education and care

Qualifications:
– Master’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field
– Experience working in a child care setting or providing training and support to early childhood professionals
– Knowledge of early childhood education best practices and curriculum development
– Strong presentation and facilitation skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
