We are currently seeking candidates for the following position:

Position: Youth Minister

Job Description

As a Youth Minister at Mt Calvary AME Church, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating all youth ministry programs for students in grades 6-12. This includes organizing weekly youth group meetings, planning and implementing retreats and mission trips, and providing pastoral care and support to our young members. The Youth Minister will work closely with the Senior Pastor and other church leaders to create a nurturing and welcoming environment for our youth to grow in their faith and develop strong relationships with each other and with God.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and lead weekly youth group meetings
• Organize and oversee special events, retreats, and mission trips for youth
• Provide pastoral care and support to youth and their families
• Recruit and train volunteers to assist with youth programs
• Collaborate with church staff and leaders to integrate youth into the broader church community
• Develop and implement a curriculum that engages youth in meaningful discussions and activities related to faith and discipleship
• Model Christian values and behavior both inside and outside of church activities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Divinity, Christian Education, Youth Ministry, etc.)
• Ordained or licensed in the AME Church (preferred)
• Experience working with youth in a church or community setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Methodist theology and doctrine
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals
• Passion for youth ministry and helping young people grow in their faith
