About Us

With a mission to enhance safety, improve mobility, and reduce traffic congestion, Houston Transtar is a partnership of four government agencies which include:

• Houston Department of Transportation
• Harris County Toll Road Authority
• Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County
• Texas Department of Transportation

Our team works collaboratively to provide up-to-date information on road conditions, incidents, and closures to the public through various communication channels, including our website, social media, and our 24/7 call center.

Current Openings:

1. Traffic Operations Specialist

• Monitor real-time traffic data and incidents
• Coordinate with various agencies to manage traffic flow
• Update and maintain traffic information systems
• Provide assistance to motorists during emergencies

2. Communications Coordinator

• Manage communications with the public via phone, email, and social media
• Coordinate with media outlets for traffic updates
• Develop and distribute traffic alerts and advisories
• Assist in the organization of press events and conferences

3. IT Support Specialist

• Maintain and troubleshoot technical issues with traffic management systems
• Provide support to staff on software and hardware problems
• Assist in the development and implementation of new technologies
• Ensure data security and system reliability
