The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is a program designed to help low-income, unemployed individuals aged 55 and older find meaningful employment opportunities in their communities. Our goal is to provide older adults with the support and resources they need to re-enter the workforce, gain valuable skills, and enhance their quality of life.

Job Title: Career Development Specialist

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Career Development Specialist to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in assisting program participants in their job search and career development efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one career counseling and guidance to program participants
  • Develop individualized career plans and goals
  • Assist participants in updating resumes and preparing for job interviews
  • Coordinate job placement opportunities with local employers
  • Monitor and track participant progress towards employment goals
  • Collaborate with community partners to expand job training and placement options

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. Social Work, Counseling, Human Resources)
  • Previous experience in career counseling or employment services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Familiarity with local employment resources and job market trends
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
