Position: Wheelchair Specialist
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Wheelchair Specialist to join our team. As a Wheelchair Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing the mobility needs of clients, recommending appropriate equipment, and providing ongoing support and maintenance services. This role requires a strong understanding of medical equipment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others achieve greater independence and mobility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ mobility needs and recommend appropriate wheelchair solutions.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals, caregivers, and clients to ensure a customized and personalized approach to mobility solutions.
- Provide product demonstrations and training on the safe and proper use of wheelchairs and mobility aids.
- Coordinate with insurance providers to secure coverage for equipment and ensure timely delivery and setup.
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on wheelchairs to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of client assessments, orders, and services provided.
- Stay current on industry trends, new products, and advancements in assistive technology.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients throughout their mobility journey.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in the durable medical equipment industry, specifically with wheelchairs and mobility aids.
- Strong knowledge of wheelchair types, functions, and features.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to client interactions.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as needed.
