About Us:

The City of Houston Recycling Center is a leading municipal entity dedicated to promoting waste reduction and recycling efforts within the city. We strive to create a more sustainable environment for current and future generations by diverting waste from landfills and encouraging responsible recycling practices.

We are currently hiring for the following position:

Recycling Center Supervisor

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the recycling center, including sorting, baling, and processing recyclable materials
• Manage a team of recycling center employees and volunteers
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate shipments of recyclable materials
• Implement and maintain quality control measures
• Develop and implement strategies to increase recycling participation and diversion rates

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in waste management, recycling, or a related field
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Knowledge of recycling processes and equipment
• Understanding of safety and environmental regulations
