Position: Scrap Metals Technician

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Scrap Metals Technician to join our team at Coastal Metal Recycling. The Scrap Metals Technician will be responsible for assisting with the collection, sorting, and processing of various scrap metals, including aluminum, copper, and steel. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the collection of scrap metals from various sources
• Sort and separate different types of metals
• Operate equipment such as balers, shears, and grinders
• Ensure all materials are processed according to company guidelines
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
• Perform general maintenance on equipment as needed

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in the recycling or metal industry is preferred
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment
• Strong communication skills and a team player mentality
• Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties
• Basic math skills for weighing and measuring materials
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
