Position: Economic Development Coordinator
The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau is seeking a dynamic and experienced Economic Development Coordinator to join our team. As the premier destination marketing organization for the Greater Houston area, we are dedicated to promoting Houston as a world-class destination for business and leisure travelers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain businesses in the Greater Houston area
- Collaborate with industry partners, government officials, and economic development organizations to support growth and development initiatives
- Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities in key economic sectors
- Assist in the coordination of business attraction and retention programs, including site visits and incentive packages
- Prepare reports, presentations, and proposals to support economic development initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, urban planning, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in economic development, business recruitment, or related field
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
