Position: HR Specialist

Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled HR Specialist to join our team. The HR Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the human resource functions for the City of Houston. This position will involve a variety of tasks related to recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and training and development.

Responsibilities

• Manage the recruitment process for various city departments, including job postings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews
• Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures
• Administer employee benefits programs and assist with open enrollment processes
• Coordinate and facilitate training sessions for new and existing employees

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in human resources
• Knowledge of HR laws and regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
