About Us
The Laura Recovery Center Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention, education, and recovery of missing children. Founded in 1998 in memory of Laura Smither, who was abducted and murdered at the age of 12, we work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our community.
We are Hiring: Crisis Intervention Specialist
Are you passionate about helping others in their time of need? Do you have experience in crisis intervention and want to make a difference in the lives of missing children and their families? If so, we want you to join our team as a Crisis Intervention Specialist!
Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis intervention services to families of missing children, offering emotional support and resources
- Coordinate search and recovery efforts, working closely with law enforcement and other agencies
- Develop and implement safety education programs for schools, community organizations, and parents
- Participate in outreach and awareness events to promote the mission of the organization
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interventions and interactions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
- Experience in crisis intervention and working with vulnerable populations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for child safety and advocacy
