Position: Surgical Nurse

Job Description

As a Surgical Nurse at Memorial Hermann Medical Group Southeast General Surgery, you will work closely with the surgical team to provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care to patients undergoing general surgical procedures. You will be responsible for preparing patients for surgery, assisting the surgeon during procedures, and monitoring patients’ recovery after surgery. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical and emotional status pre and post-operatively.
• Administer medications and monitor patients during surgery.
• Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and provide appropriate interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Prior experience in surgical nursing preferred.
• Strong clinical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
