Position: Director of Youth Ministries

St Mary’s United Methodist Church is currently seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as the Director of Youth Ministries. This position is a vital role within our church, as it involves leading and coordinating all aspects of our youth programs and activities. The Director of Youth Ministries will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people in our community and help them grow in their faith and relationship with God.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive youth ministry program that includes weekly gatherings, retreats, mission trips, and special events
• Provide spiritual guidance and support to youth members, helping them navigate the challenges of adolescence and grow in their faith
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with youth ministry programs and activities
• Build relationships with parents and families of youth members, keeping them informed and involved in the youth ministry program
• Collaborate with church staff and leadership to integrate youth ministry into the overall mission and vision of the church
• Participate in regular staff meetings, planning sessions, and training opportunities
• Attend and support youth members in church services, events, and activities

Qualifications:

• A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to living out that faith in daily life
• A bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, education, or a related field (a master’s degree is preferred)
• Previous experience working with youth in a church or educational setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and relate to young people
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities, with the capacity to plan and execute a variety of youth programs and activities
• A heart for ministry and a desire to see young people grow in their relationship with God
