Responsibilities:
Registered Nurse (RN):
Provide direct patient care, including administering chemotherapy and monitoring patients’ responses to treatment
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
Educate patients and families about treatment options, side effects, and self-care
Ensure adherence to treatment protocols and best practices in oncology nursing
Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist:
Diagnose and treat pediatric patients with cancer and blood disorders
Develop comprehensive treatment plans and oversee patient care
Participate in research and clinical trials to advance knowledge and treatment options in pediatric oncology and hematology
Provide guidance and support to patients and families throughout the treatment process
Medical Assistant:
Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations and procedures
Take vital signs, record medical histories, and input patient information into electronic health records
Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical supplies
Provide compassionate care and support to pediatric patients and their families
Oncology Social Worker:
Assess the psychosocial needs of patients and families affected by cancer and blood disorders
Provide counseling, emotional support, and resources to help patients cope with diagnosis and treatment
Coordinate care with healthcare team members and community organizations to address holistic patient needs
Advocate for patients and families to ensure access to necessary support services
Clinical Research Coordinator:
Coordinate and oversee clinical research studies related to pediatric oncology and hematology
Recruit and enroll eligible patients into research protocols
Collect and manage study data, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Communicate study progress and findings to research team members and stakeholders
Qualifications:
Appropriate educational background and professional certification/licensure for each position
Prior experience in pediatric oncology and hematology preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to pediatric patients and their families
Dedication to continuous learning and professional development
